PaceBuddy is designed so that your workout data stays with you. It has no servers, no accounts, and makes no network connections.
PaceBuddy has no servers and makes no network requests. All workout data — including your routes, pace history, elevation records, and calorie estimates — is stored locally on your iPhone. For Apple Watch workouts, data syncs directly from your Watch to your own iPhone. Nothing is ever transmitted to us or to any third party.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking. PaceBuddy contains no advertising or third-party SDKs and requires no account.
We have no servers and no access to your information — there is nothing for us to share, sell, or be breached. With your permission, PaceBuddy reads heart rate from and writes workouts to Apple Health, and Apple Watch workouts sync to your paired iPhone; both stay entirely within devices and services you control, not a third party, and we never see, store, or transmit any of it ourselves.
PaceBuddy uses GPS, barometric altimeter, and motion sensors — on whichever device is tracking your workout — solely to measure it in real time. This data is processed on-device and, for Watch workouts, sent directly to your own paired iPhone. It is never sent to us or to any third party.
If you grant permission, PaceBuddy reads heart-rate data from Apple Health to display live heart rate and improve calorie accuracy, and writes completed workouts back to Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never leaves your devices through PaceBuddy. You can revoke this access at any time in the Health app under Sharing, or in iOS Settings.
PaceBuddy does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. No account or personal detail is required to use the app.
Uninstalling PaceBuddy removes all stored data from your device permanently. Workouts you previously chose to save to Apple Health remain in Apple Health and can be deleted there.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
